Cucina Paradiso in Palms

dtud | Feb 20, 200610:57 AM

Went to Cucina Paradiso for a second time and have to say - this place is pretty good.

The space has been transformed from the old Johnny Foxx's bar to this - and it's totally different - pretty nice.

Our group had:
Eggplant Parm. - the standout of this dish was the marinara sauce - just great! I don't know what else to say, but it melted in my mouth. All the flavors were delicate and it was just super tasty.

Scampi - I don't like scampi that much - but this was good. Four shrimp sauteed in garlic and herbs and serve with toast slivers. Pretty good, but wouldn't order again.

Spinach Salad with Bacon and Goat Cheese - this was what it says. Totally delicous and a perfect blend of flavors IMO. I loved it and can't wait to have it again. The dressing was i think balsamic based and it was a little greasy - but that was ok, b/c I had it as my main.

Spaghetti Bolognese - this was great. Same marinara sauce as the eggplant parm but with meat. It was great.

Gnocci with Shrimp - Eh. This was not great and not bad. A little too oily - but tasty.

All in all, I think this is a GREAT addition to this neighborhood. I wouldn't travel distances to go here - but I am very happy to have Italian w/in walking distance.
3387 Motor Avenue. (near Palms Ave.)
