I just ate at Haban the Cuban sandwich place on 2nd and Washington, near Pioneer Square. The place was empty so I was a bit hesitant, but Salumi is closed for remodeling and I thought what the hell. Besides the complete lack of atmosphere the place was quite good. I had a black bean soup, needed salt and could have used more heat, but very tasty. Then a Cuban sandwich with pickles, roast pork, ham and cheese on a nice crusty bun. The waiter forgot to ask me if I wanted anything to drink which was a bit odd as the place is mostly a bar but they had both Cuban soft drinks and a molasses based drink that the menu stated was only for the connoisseur. Total bill was $8.23. well worth a stop if you are in the area but not worth an expedition.
