I visited Alki today for the first time in a good long while, and was shocked and apalled by the condition of this venerable structure. I knew it had had a fire several years ago, but was not prepared to see the depths of neglect and decay to which it has sunk (think crackhouse meets Nightmare on Elm Street). Ruined my day, actually.
Does anyone know the story of how this sad state of affairs came to be? Why has nothing been done to either save it or give it a decent burial?
