Crustacean Beverly Hills-Big wallet required

Francis N. | Dec 2, 200503:01 PM

Has anyone eat at Crustacean lately?

I went there just to see if it is worth the $$$.
Everything was standard and I just couldn't believe that an Asian meal based on relatively inexpensive ingredients and mediocre quality seafood(the crab and shrimp) can cost that much. The flavors were not inovative as claimed.
The owner/chef was very heavy handed with the sugar since everything tasted very sugary and not naturally sweet tasting. Maybe sugar is the Royal Secret ingredient from the vaulted kitchen.
Compared to the top $$$ restaurant in LA or SF or anywhere; only the price would match but the quality and service is way below $$$ standards.
The wine list and desert(which Asian is not known for) need some professional work.
It is a rather nice looking place. Interesting for Vietnamese food.
