Cru or Craft for birthday dinner?

Virgil | Apr 7, 2006 01:44 PM

Need a spot to celebrate a birthday with family, aged 17 - 62. I was thinking either Craft or Cru. Want top notch food, good service, nice, somewhat festive atmoshere ect.

Two important criteria: about half the group lives outside the city and want to get home at a reasonable time, so we need a place that will seat us at the time of the reservation. I've heard that Cru does not always manage to do this.

Second, adventurous cooking is fine but there also need to be a couple of simple dishes on the menu, a steak something like that.

Any other suggestions apppreciated as well, its a party of six for next Thursday and I don't have reservations yet, so Per Se, Babbo and their ilk probably won't have a table.

Thanks in advance
