We went to Cru last weekend and found it to be a mixed bag. Started with a wonderful little beet chip cone filled with a beet concoction. For appetizer, I had two types of crudo, one of which was good and the other struck me as lacking any distinct flavor. I had the pasta with truffles and prosciutto which was great. The wine list is truly impressive, but it's also daunting. We abdicated wine ordering to the genuine aficionado among us, but he got small satisfaction from the sommeliere.
The service was OK, but they did keep confusing orders. The room is as drab as Le Bernardin. On looks alone, I wouldn't go back. As one of us remarked, "It looks like a restaurant in DC."
