New Crown Fried Chicken by Reading Terminal

1101 Filbert, right outside Reading Terminal

Tried this at lunch having yet to make it to any of their other locations. Mighty tasty. 3 mixed pieces for $5.99, wings seem to be the way to go as they have the best skin/meat ratio and adhesion (leg was only so-so in this regard). Thigh also had very tasty meat. Think I'll get the hot wings next time. The batter was very, very tasty but more an 'herbed' batter than a crunchy/crispy batter. Fries were blah and the combo meals don't come with a biscuit, they come with a dinner roll, which is a bummer. A whole lot of sides that I didn't realize they served. Also, wouldn't have minded some hot sauce on the table.

The Gallery Mall, historically where appetites go to die, just got even worse as the Popeye's closed. My fried chicken cravings aren't all that often, but now I'll have a solid place to go. Oh, and the Amish agree with me as they were also getting their fix there as well. Interesting that they'd choose Crown over Delilah's.
