Can someone explain to me why Crook's Corner has such a bad reputation? I've been there twice in the last year and been very satisfied. The collards are so nice and fresh, with a great (yet subtle) vinegar taste. Beats the wilted and depressed veggies at Mama Dip's. On the catfish, the almonds were toasted perfectly and the jalepeno hushpuppie were lightly fried and to use a cliche, melted in my mouth.
I hate that 411 West is always more crowded than Crook's Corner. The former is bland. The menu is boring and the entres are pitiful. Many of them simply have no flavor.
In conclusion, go to Crook's Corner. (or give me a good argument against it).
