Crispino's- Where are the CHUNKS?

I'm wondering if any of the fans of Crispino's Ices in Bayside have noticed the lack of chunks in this season's batches. I have been VERY disappointed. Barely a chocolate covered jelly ring in its namesake, hardly a peanutbutter cup in the "Elvis" NO absolutely NO morsels in the "Snickers!" Everything is smooth and pastey and screams out "guar gum..."

For a few weeks I was actually convinced my fat-phobic husband was getting me the regular, boring water-based chocolate instead of my preferred "cream"-based faves. I was certain I was being tricked. Quite a few arguments ensued :) Tonight I ordered myself and realized my honey was not deceiving me. As much as I HATE being wrong, I particularly hate being let down. Especially when it concerns something I've been craving.

When I want a trashy, trendy ice I expect some substance. Crispino's was fantastic last summer. I'm feeling culinarily-bummed and wondering if anyone else has noticed this. Is it just at the Bayside location? How is Whitestone doing? Should I just give up and schlepp to Corona for the peanut butter? Maybe even try out the new Ralph's in Bayside? Perhaps it's a sign to stick to the classy, flawless hazelnut, chocolate, melon, and lemon at D'Aquila Pasty Shop. Who knows?
