I don't know of any place in the San Gabriel Valley or Chinatown that serves chicken dumplings, since that's not a traditional Chinese dish. Consequently I'm forced to resort to other geographic areas, particularly the Westside, to find these guys. Just ran across a different version of the dish at the intersection of La Brea and Centinela in Inglewood. I think the place is called Hop Ga Garden (929 N. La Brea) though the menu inside had a different name on it. The edges of their fried chicken dumplings are actually crisp, though the rest of the dumpling skin is only browned. Certainly a different means of presentation, and about as good as any chicken dumpling I've found on the Westside.
