Last Thursday my husband and I went to Creole Kosher Kitchen for lunch. Atmosphere was pretty basic - most people seemed to be regulars who know the owners. Pictures of Rabbi's on the wall.
I had the gumbo. It had a spicy rich tomato sauce, many veggies, chicken and sausage. The sausage was great, with very interesting spicing. They said they make it themselves. My husband had the jambalaya, which was only very slightly different from the gumbo in spicing. The ice tea was wonderful - fresh brewed and flavored with a touch of rose.
All in all a nice lunch place. They also had a vegetarian section of the menu and a persion section.
Highly recommended if you only eat kosher meat, good enough for your non-Kosher companions to enjoy it. But if you eat non-Kosher meat, there are better places to eat in New Orleans.
