Went to Craftbar last night for dinner and had a nice meal. The octopus appetizer was tender with perfect charring on the outside and a citrus essence. For dinner we both had the duck "two ways" ... confit and sliced. It was accompanied by an array of things....some sort of crispy crepe stuffed with greens, a bechamel type of sauce and if I recall correctly some grilled celery and scallions. The portions were big and the service was slightly off but the tag team of waiters were aiming to please. Now for the dessert.........we went with the cookie platter...OMG.....we received a large wooden box of warm "full size" cookies consisting of choco chip pecan, peanut butter, oatmeal, and chocolate chocolate. This along with black mint chip ice cream was HEAVEN!!!!
Tonight we thought we were heading to Sunburnt Cow for dinner, but due to two large parties the restaurant was full. We headed to Esperanto....what a treat. Ate outside, had some of the best cocktails I have had in the city in a long while...guava margarita, passionfruit caprihania (sp?) and mojitos. Delish. Dinner...tostones, arepas, shrimp and potato cakes.....and a porkchop with pineapple salsa. A perfect meal!!!!
