Crabs at Bluefins, Baltimore

Steve | Sep 19, 2005 11:53 AM

On a road trip from Arlington, VA to Philadelphia, decided to stop by Mr. Bill's Terrace Inn for crabs...

Unfortunately, traffic got us there much later than hoped for, 6:30pm, and a 45-minute wait to be seated was not going to work for us.

So we stopped in at Bluefins, on the water, just across the Back River. This looks like it was a biker bar, but they've recently (only 2 months ago) added a nice hall for eating crabs as well as landscaping and picnic tables outside for eating by the water. Good water views from indoors too.

Nobody was eating outside, and we were discouraged from eating outside by the staff, because of the bugs. Mskes you wonder when would be ok for eating outside.

There was no wait, only two tables taken, so the place was empty. But it filled up nicely as the evening wore on.

They had an all you can eat deal, including soup, for $20, but since there were three of us, we decided to get a dozen 47s instead. 33 minutes later, our order came out. No complaint About the size or flavor, so a good time was had by all. The bodies of the crabs were very hot, but the legs were not! Not sure how this happened. I prefer to see steam coming out of my crabs.

Bill's looked like quite a scene, though, so I'm hoping to get in there the next time.
