Crab and Garlic Noodles

2 Questions:

Several years ago I had one of the best meals of my life at Crustacean - some sort of salt and pepper crab with a side of garlic noodles.

I returned to the restaurant 2 years ago and ordered the same meal but was really disappointed - the crab wasn't as tasty and the noodles were really greasy. I felt the meal wasn't worth the money.

Where's the best place for a chowhound to go in the City to enjoy these dishes?

Also, are dungeoness crabs in season? Maybe my disappointing experience was due to ordering the crab out of season?

thanks!!
