In response to Michael Rodriguez's request for Chiu Chau goose ([BROKEN LINK REMOVED]), I enlisted the help of my friend's dad for the hunt. Her father is Teochew (aka Chiu Chau), lives in the East Bay, and I thought he and his network of senior Chinese eaters might have a lead on where to find our elusive goose.
Here's his email:
"We found Chiu Chow duck, not goose at a restaurant in the Pacific East Mall in Richmond. They told us that they hope to have goose soon.

We also had take out Chiu Chow Duck from a restaurant in Oakland some time ago. It was on Franklin St. near 8th or 9th Street. Cannot remember the name or address.
So, maybe if chowhounds pester the folks at VH Noodle, we can speed up the goose implementation? I've linked my post on VH Noodle House below - the Chiu Chau duck might be the "Preserved Orange Skin Duck" I mention at the bottom.
The Oakland restaurant he mentions might be Vien Huong which is on Franklin between 7th and 8th. It is the "original" VH with the same owners as the place in Richmond. Perhaps it has a similar offering. If I'm overlooking another place in Oakland Chinatown in that vicinity, please let us know.
I looked on the web to try to find a picture of the sliced soyed goose. The "D" image below is the best image I could locate.
