Country Ribs Ranchero

Egregious | Feb 23, 2007 12:24 PM

Some older posts on this board have reminisced about Antonio's Spanish-Italian Carryout. Before urban renewal, it used to be at 633 D St., NW, in DC, near the Patrick Henry Bldg. We'd bring my now 26-year-old in as a baby and spoon-feed him black beans & rice.

Yes, the Cuban sandwich was great, but my favorite meal was Country Ribs Ranchero. They were short ribs, I believe pork, and as dark as black coffee. I'll give a big Thank You to anyone who can steer me to a place that duplicates (heck, even approximates) Country Ribs Ranchero.

I know Tony and his wife had a son ("Little Tony") and daughter who worked there. Did they carry the recipes somewhere?
