out-of-country guests recomendation! (first time in NY)

Hey all,

I'm new to the board and spent a few hours reading some past posts. I think this is a great forum!

I have some guests coming in from Turkey - my wife's cousin, her husband, and their 5 year old who is very mature. It's their first time in NY and I have to impress them! I'm racking my brain trying to figure out a good place to take them where their son can come as well.

They expressed an interest in seeing some Jazz and also in doing some dancing. I would also of course like to take them somewhere where the food is good. The hard part is finding a place where their son can come as well.

Does anyone have any suggestions of where we can go which may combine some or all of these things? So far I'm thinking of taking them to the midtown Jeckyl & Hydes. I know its cheesy and overpriced, but I think their son would love it and its pretty impressive for an out of towner.

Also, it can be two places - one to eat at and another to go dancing or something.

I thought of SOBs but they won't let children in. Any ideas anyone?? I'm not that crazy about any of the other theme restaurants except maybe Mars 2112. I need some help!
