Count down to chow down...

Hello fellow foodies,

I wrote awhile ago about places to eat in NO that weren't primarily seafood and now I am back.
I am having a lot of trouble narrowing it down for dinner choices. My husband just told me that he will not be wearing a suit jacket when we are there, he works on Wall Street and says he doesn't want to on his vacation! That is fine with me because it makes the choices easier( I am overwhelmed!). I have lots of casual places for breakfast and lunch and an extremely long list of recommendations for dinner but maybe you can help me narrow it down. Looking for fun places for first-timers,not too touristy, some casual, some tie-no jacket, close range to quarter with something fun nearby for after. We are from NYC so we love good food and great ambiance but we don't want primarily seafood menus. Help! I want to make reservations this week.
Oh, in addition we are trying to schedule a good airboat swamp tour that will pick us up at our hotel. Any suggestions would be helpful!
