I wanted to contribute to the SW Board and add a huge shout out to Bocce in Cottonwood, Arizona.
We had a reason to dine there this weekend - we were up in Cottonwood visiting relatives for the holiday.
Bocce is fairly new - our party of four opted to sit at the bar watching the chefs prepare the meals and watch the hive of activity going in and out of their wood fired oven. Party shared the Wood Fired Artichoke Antipasti - I declined as I don't like hot artichokes but it was scarfed up by the others in record time. Alongside was served crusty bread and crackers. I took a cracker and tried out the basil infused olive oil and chili infused olive oil that was in cruets on the bar. Loved the chili flavor, I'm a sucker for spice and it had a nice crust.
Dinner was the Funghi pizza (really excellent and the server added additional Parmesan at the table / bar). I tried the Shrimp and Hot Pepper Pizza and swooned. Another member of our party had the Chicken and Pesto Panini and the portion was huge and served with salad. I'm not saying that the pizza portions were small in any way - there were leftovers that were made into my breakfast the next day.
Three of our party drank beer and one had wine (on tap as well).
Atmosphere was quite chic - small bar for watching the cooking production, small bar for drinking, tables throughout and couches near a fire place. We did not make it to the outside patio (too cold) but I'd want to try it out when it's warmer.
Bocce is on a repeat for us when we get a chance to got up to Cottonwood again and definitely worth a side trip off I-17.
