Went to Costello's last weekend in Noank, CT. Next to Abbott's. Had their clear broth chowder and clam cakes. Very good chowder not fantastic. Clam cakes were excellent. They come with a dipping sauce which is not really a New England or Connecticut tradition. But the sauce was delicious. It was the first weekend they were open and a little chilly. The marina looks like they spent a huge amount of money putting in new piers. Wonderful atmosphere for a clam shack, right on the water of Long Island Sound. I opened my car door and was happily hit with the fresh smell of salt air! Probably turning into a tourist trap like Abbott's.
