Costa del Sol -- WARNING! AVOID at all costs!!

Paella Tension!! | Dec 20, 2001 12:22 PM

Costa del Sol (on 9th Ave and 50th St) used to have pretty nice, if not exceptional Spanish food. I've had some very fresh and well-cooked Paella there over the years. Was there about 6 months ago and it was not great at all -- but last night I was in a bind. I was taking my girlfriend to see Sexaholix and she wanted Spanish for her xmas b'way night out.

It was GODAWFUL!! Overcooked rubbery shrimp, overcooked rubbery scallops, overcooked rubbery sole in an asparagus puree.

I surely would have said something to the manager but the night was a gift -- and she usually hates when I complain. it was her night out...

If you have a hankerin' for paella...DON'T eat at Costa Del Sol as it has become APPALINGLY BAD. Head down to Sevilla in the village instead.
