Cortina on the UES

Last night, I decided to try Cortina after reading all the rave reviews on menupages.com Well, let me say that my group was extremely disappointed. The service was abominable, we waited too long for our waiter who is not helpful nor attentive. My group and I have not experienced service this bad in a long time. The woman who brought our dishes from the kitchen didn't even speak English and no idea what our dishes were and stood there wanting us to take our plates from her. I was really shocked by this low quality and lack of care. Then, the next abominable element was the food. I ordered one of the specials which was grilled mahi mahi. It was overcooked on the outside and undercooked on the inside. The fish was herb crusted and incorrectly spiced making it way too salty. Two other people in my group ordered another special which was filet of sole in a lemon sauce, also prepared wrong. The fish was not in a lemon sauce but rather a soupy cream one. It was also not cooked right and tasted as such. I left most of my food over and the waiter did not even notice. My group left dissatisfied and annoyed. I was embarrassed for picking such a place.

The reviews on menupages must have been written by the managment because there is no way so many people wrote such positive things about this place. Has anyone here had any experiences at Cortina?
