I'm valiantly trying to catch up on all that I missed around here while I was in Portugal. Reading about Brandon Nelson's Grandpa Buddy reminded me of my dad and his prodigious consumption of corn on the cob. He had a way of buttering that I still use: put a blop of soft butter on your corn plate and season it with salt and lots of pepper, mix, apply to corn. Does anyone else do this? Are there better techniques?
