I went to Corduroy for appetizers and drinks on Friday night. Thought I'd pass on what my perception was of the place. It is very quiet. Since it is in a hotel, it's a little hidden, so it doesn't draw a big crowd. Great, if you really want to sit and talk. If you want to people watch - not the place to go. We sat down and ordered drinks. I thought from the Chowhound person that recommended I try this spot that they have an extensive wine list. They actually have about 6 wines. Most I've never heard of. But I had a Pinot Gris and my husband had a Pinot Noir. Both were very good. We found the bartender to be a bit quirky (lack of a better word). He took our order for appetizers and drinks - brought us the drinks but it was a good 30 minutes later, after we had finished our drinks and were quite pissed off that the appetizers had not arrived, that he came over. We actually had to get his attention and ask him where they were. He said they had run out of spring rolls and had to make some more and that was the delay. We had also ordered Feta cheese in a potato. If what he said was true, he could have brought us the Feta cheese. But he didn't even bother to come over and tell us the situation - to give us a chance to even understand. So, to say the least, the service was crummy. The food, though, was very good. Spring rolls were like none I'd had before and the Feta cheese/potato combination was good and well presented. Regardless of how good the appetizers were, I probably would not go back again. I like service, with a smile!
