Copper Rondeau

FlamBay | Jul 30, 201902:01 PM     67

So I have been thinking about breaking down and getting a nice piece of copper. I settled on the Rondeau because I could use it stove top or in the oven. I have a friend who is a big Falk fan so I have heard all about them and that their virtue is in the thickness of the copper. My friend is also an engineer so the technical aspects are important to him.

So I started doing my research and now I am even more confused than when I started.

Falk is 2.5mm with 2.3 of that being copper. Mauviel M250 is the same. WS brand in has an unstated thickness which leads me to believe it is much less. And through all of this the pricing is all over the place. Here is my quick breakout:

Falk 24 CM Rondeau with lid $370
Mauviel M250 Rondeau with lid $655
Mauviel Triply Rondeau with lid $370

The feedback that i have gotten from my friend it that the Falk is technically identical to the M250 and both of them stand above nearly all. Is there something I'm missing with regards to the price? Any thoughts on why there is so much difference if they are nearly the same or they not really the same?
