Copper restaurant

Nice dinner at Copper on Degraw St. between Clinton and Court in Carroll Gardens this past Friday. Small cozy comfortable dining room, very friendly relaxed service.

For an appetizer we had steamed mussels in a delectible butter garlic sauce. My husband had the seseme crusted seared tuna with polenta -- very nice. I had the watercress salad with pears and goat cheese -- lovely and delicate -- and a side of pommes frites -- a little dry and hard -- but, the desserts more than made up for them. Port soaked pears with homemade cognac ice cream -- delicious. But the chocolate souffle was the star. Light, yet rich. Irresistible. We ordered a second one!

Went back for brunch the following morning. Yummy, yummy french toast with a wonderful not-too-sweet raspberry sauce. My husband had their version of Eggs Benedict -- brioch (I think) instead of english muffin -- nicely done --and very tasty hash. They served wonderful corn bread with the meal.

Copper opened September 8th.
