apologies if this has already been discussed...but was by Cooper's this morning for coffee.
Recovering from the brief heart-attack inspired by the large white city planning poster in the window (thinking the place was changing hands or closing down), I was informed by the nice lad behind the counter that Cooper's is transforming into a restaurant/deli, with planned breakfast, lunch and cheese tasting/evening menus.
Breakfast looks to be limited to granola/pastries, while lunch focuses on paninis and home-made soups...dinner will present a selection of cheese plates with what-looks-to-be a healthy wine list.
If all goes well with permits, et al, the shop should be ready to go within three-odd months. Right now, offerings are a tad slim as they clear the place out in preparation.
There's a petition on the counter - if you're in the neighborhood and in favor of the plans, go on in and sign to show your support. So far no one's put up a fuss (I guess the place isn't necessarily zoned for a restaurant, so they need a special permit) but the Cooper kids would appreciate it.
