Cooking veggies to preserve nutrients

According to conventional wisdom, boiling vegetables causes the vitamins and minerals leach into the water, whereas steaming keeps the nutrients within.

Is this true? What other cooking methods allow vegetables to retain their nutritional value?

Being dry methods, roasting and stir-frying come to mind. (I'm not worried about adding fat to the vegetables, say, by drizzling on oil before roasting or by stir-frying in butter or oil.)
