Wandered into Caper today to discover that they're closing for remodelling at the end of June. Almost everything is 50% off, including:
-dried herbs/spices. There are easily 20 to choose from, from commonplace to somehat exotic.
-small portions of demi glace, seafood and duck
-baking supplies: all kinds of fancy sugar, colored sugar for decorating, chocolate
-tea and coffee
-King Arthur bread flour
-some gourmet cookies, jam, etc.
Viking cookware was 35% off, and I saw some pots and pans, mandolins, whisks, coffee cups, food processor, and random kitchen accessories.
These are just some of the things that caught my eye. It's a motley assortment, but worth looking through if you're in the neighborhood.
Head next door to Vivande for a canoli afterwards. That was my plan, but after splurging at Caper I couldn't shell out the heartstopping $7 for a perfect looking canoli.
Caper is 1223 Fillmore, above California.
