Cooking sprouted almonds and lentils - safety

borisabrams | Apr 11, 201907:19 PM     1

Hey there!

I recently started trying to cut the levels of phytic acid in my diet down (maybe I am over reacting?). I brought some TrueRoots sprouted lentils. I then discovered that sprouts can cause food poisoning. The package says it only needs 10 mins to cook. Do you think this would be enough time to kill any potential contamination?

In other news, I brought some raw (unpasteurized) sprouted almond butter. Would I be being completely over the top to return this?? (As it is unpasteurized AND i would not be cooking)
