I just made maple sausage so our kitchen smells homey, not fresh at the moment. But I've noticed recently when making Thai curries and stir frys how gorgeous the kitchen smells... in a fresh way... after cooking.
Coconut jasmine rice, lemongrass, kaffir lime, basil, mint, etc. It's practically spa-scented around here. Big difference from when I made more Indian curries, which smell yummy-curry but more heavy, dark, foody.
