cooked crab

lovejello | Oct 14, 2005 04:19 AM

My local, run-of-the-mill supermarket has cooked whole crabs in their cooked seafood section. They cost about a dollar each. I was really surprised; is crab supposed to be this cheap? I usually avoid chicken that's very cheap because I wonder why it's so cheap - if they fed it hormones or other chickens, etc. Is it wrong of me to be suspicious of cheap cooked crab? They are in styrofoam trays, wrapped in plastic. I wonder if it means the crabs were old, or something. What do you think?
