So I know and have read all the detail of cooking beef and not allowing it to sit out more than 2 hours. As well as all the stuff about how long cooked ground beef lasts in the refrigerator, but I'm not finding anything on my issue.
I cooked my chili last night, ate my dinner, put the rest in Tupperware and into the refrigerator. Now I don't mind eating my chili cold, but it's usually a little too cold and hard to eat when it comes out of the fridge. Normally people would say just microwave it, which is fine, however, I make a squid and beef chili and microwaving it at work always smells up the kitchen.
I was thinking of taking it out of the fridge about an hour or so before lunch and just letting it sit at room temperature to warm up a bit so it's easier to eat. I suppose this is dangerous as well isn't it if it gets above 40 degrees? Or is an hour or so in the safe zone with this type of situation?
