In the '70s my mom and I had a favorite recipe for oatmeal balls. They did not have peanut butter, but they had a huge quantity of vanilla. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? The ingredients were probably oatmeal, cocoa, vanilla and maybe brown sugar or butter. You didn't cook them, somehow the large quantity of vanilla kind of mellowed them as they sat. I don't know if these would work with the Trader Joe's kind of vanilla that's based on glycerin, not alcohol.
