Conway's BBQ (Orlando)

Tried this local small chain and was not impressed. No smoke or wood anywhere in sight (at the Orange Avenue location) and not much smoke taste in the chopped pork. Side dishes were tiny, and shamefully bogus ("smoked new potatoes" were doctored up canned potatoes, greens were canned, etc.) Very fast food atmosphere, get your own drink refills from the dispenser, etc.

More than one of us joked that with all the brush fires in the Orlando area, they could have gotten a better smoked flavor by just setting the meat outside for awhile.

The help seemed confused, too, forgetting what dishes came with what combo.

I can't think of any reason to recommend it, except that I liked two of their sauces (they are indecisive enough to have everything from Carolina vinegar style to mustard to KC, a total of six.) The hot was HOT, and the smoke flavored was very tasty. Great mixed together.

I'll stick with Cecil's not far away, or Sonny's.
