Okay, I have two friends that are coming to Chicago the first week of September. I have a wedding to go to that weekend. So I am considering coming out the Saturday before and staying through the next Saturday so I can get back home for a wedding on Sunday.
My main reason for coming out that early is that I'd like to go to the Maxwell Street Market. Mexican food is one of my major interests.
However, originally we were going to stay with a friend, but he just got a new job in Phoenix and will be moved before then. His condo might be available, though empty, but that's not something I can count on at all.
Once my friends get there (Wednesday night), I could share a motel room with them. The thing is, I've been travelling so much, that I'm rather broke and could use a couple months to build some funds. So, keeping this all in mind, a few questions:
* How cool is the Maxwell Street Market really?
* Any good suggestions for cheap places to stay where I can still get around without a car?
* What are the best cheap food-related stuff in town for someone without a car?
