Cold soups leave me cold. Don't tell me that I only feel this way because I haven't yet had the good fortune to taste the best, freshest cold soup ever made by someone's grandmother or some uber-chef.
Cold soup tastes like leftovers that just came out of the fridge and haven't been nuked yet.
Fruit soups are the worst. They taste as if they were destined to be something else (coulis, smoothie, whatever), but unfortunately mutated into cold soup.
If it's 100 degrees outside and I need to eat something cold and refreshing, I'll have a salad and a sorbet, thank you.
Please, convince me, what's so great about cold soups?
