CONNAL'S BURGERS -- another (happy) report

ipse dixit | Jun 13, 2006 06:30 PM

Ok, I've raved about CONNAL'S in the past, including their fabulous peanut butter, chocolate banana shakes, and their "frings" (onion rings and french fries combo), but this past Monday I had the pleasure of ordering a "build-to-suit" burger.

Details:
-1/4 lbs patty (cooked rare)
-Grilled onions
-Bacon
-Avocado
-Mushrooms
-Thick smear of mayo
-Lettuce & tomato

This was fabulous, on par with anything Father's Office could proffer up. Meat was well seasoned and not too thick as to overpower the overall composition of the burger. The grilled onions added a smoky-earthiness dimension, while the bacon and avocado provided the requisite creamy-crunchy mouth-feel that you don't get with "normal" burgers. The lettuce/tomato was like the cherry on top of a sundae -- makes the darn sandwich look better (and healthier) and even makes one believe that this is a wholesome, nutrious meal encompassing all four major food groups ...

Total damage for the burger? Less than $6 (not including the bill that my cardiologist will send me).

Chow away ...
