Thanks to the people who recommended Congee Village for my sister's bachelorette party. The downstairs karaoke room was perfect, and the food was delicious. Highlights: crispy garlic chicken, fried flounder, greens and mushrooms, and everyone except me loved the shrimp with walnut sauce. The dim sum apps were not great, but did the trick. Very nice service during the evening despite the fact that the place was completely swamped--it was a little hard to get drinks quickly. Next time we'll just order beers.
One caveat: I set the menu ahead of time and they suggested honestly twice as much food as we could have eaten. Even after we reduced the amount by a third we still took a huge amount home. That said, everyone had a great time and I can't wait to go back for a regular dinner. Thanks again to the Chowhound board!
