Chicago experts: I'm planning the annual awards event for our professional association for about 50-60 people. We get together once a year, know each other well, and this has shifted from the formal, sit down, banquet-type(thank goodness) to more of a mixer / reception where we roast and toast our colleagues from about 7 - 10 pm.
I'm looking for a great spot for our group - ethnic, eclectic, fusion, we can do anything - for a drinks reception / buffet.
The conference is at McCormick place and most people will be coming directly from there or the conference hotels, though we can handle walking a few blocks or cabbing someplace not too terribly far.
Restaurants with private dining seem like one way to go, though ideally it would be a place that would welcome the Monday night business and not be too expensive. (Attendees will pay around $50 for a ticket, we're trying to get sponsors to cover the rest.) Thanks for any suggestions!
