Restaurants & Bars

I had a fabulous meal yesterday at Compass, a place I had heard bad things about (mainly about the waits for tables, even with a reservation). I walked in post-movie with some friends yesterday (Sunday night) without a reservation, around 9:15, and there was no wait -- the place was half empty. The food was surprisingly fantastic. The tuna steak, in addition to being enormous, was "melt in your mouth" tender and delicious, with wonderful flavors. I also tried one of a friend's scallops, and they also were incredibly flavorful. Good presentation, friendly service -- all in all, an unexpectedly wonderful experience. No reservation going in, and no reservations coming out.
