Enjoyed dinner at Common Wealth gastropub in Columbia Heights. Before getting seated, we enjoyed a couple beers at the bar- decent selection of english drafts. we had the scotch egg and black pudding. The pudding was as advertised - crispy on the outside and juicy in the middle. The egg was a bit over cooked, but very good nonetheless. For mains, we had duck risotto (flavorful, but the risotto could have been a bit more defined), shepherds pie (chopped up stewed beef underneath was tasty). For dessert, the surprise was earl grey infused semi fredo. they also gave us a complimentary raspberry souffle which had a perfect balance of chocolate and raspberry flavor. if you're in the area, its a definite spot to consider, if only for drinks.
