I'm coming down to New Orleans for a couple days (Tuesday & Wednesday) in November with my wife. I lived there for 4 years, but moved up to Boston a few months before Katrina. I really need plans for two dinners, and maybe a few lunch and breakfast options. We're staying uptown and will have limited use of a car (but don't mind taking cabs). Would like to take my wife to the quarter one night, but that doesn't have to be where we eat. We'd generally like to keep the meals on the more casual side (so even though I enjoy Restaurant August, nothing that fancy).
Are there any new places in the last 5 or 10 years that I need to try? I've been back a couple times since I moved north, but I haven't had much time to explore. Cochon is the one spot I had on my initial list. Not sure if it's better for a dinner or sandwiches for lunch? We're going to most likely be over by Domilise's Wednesday afternoon, so was planning on grabbing some po boys there. What about breakfast? We're generally open to all types of cuisine, but would prefer things that lean New Orleans/Southern because we don't get that in Boston.
EDIT: Are the large Domilise's shrimp po boys really 17?! That's highway robbery. I'm seeing conflicting numbers online. Some places say $15 which is still really steep.
