The last place in the world I want to be on New Year's Eve is New York City. The massive crowds are just not my thing. But I couldn't resist a well-priced package from the Roundabout Theater (includes advance tickets for Harvey).
So, much to my husband's apprehensive surprise, on NYE we are going to the 2 p.m. matinee of Sons of the Prophet at the Laura Pels Theater on W. 46th between 6th and 7th.
I'm trying to find either a lunch spot or an after theater spot for a quick bite. I would think many restaurants in the area will be closed. Any suggestions?
I would like to avoid Times Square of course. I'm thinking maybe we would do what we did at Thanksgiving and park in Lincoln Center and walk. However, the more I think about it, the train may be the better way to go for this trip as traffic I imagine will be horrendous. If we take the train, Grand Central area would be good for a meal too. Again, I wonder what will be open...
If you were doing this, what would you advise? (Other than shoot me.) Thanks!
