The two new buildings on the 1600 and 1700 block of Park Street are finally at (or near) completion and several of the tenants are food businesses.
At PV Square (1700 Park Street, opposite side of Buena Vista from the Marketplace): Thai Noodles is moving there from across the street. Looks to be a larger location. Grand opening scheduled for Friday, June 5.
Still under construction in that building, Crispian bakery -- a home/farmers' market-based baker going bricks-and-mortar. When I talked to the owner a few weeks ago she said she was doing a full-on bakery cafe, but the space as configured now wouldn't allow for much seating. I guess I'll just have to wait and see.
Next door is the Alameda Brewery, which I have yet to see any reports of on Chowhound (don't blame me, I reported its existence but I don't drink beer!).
Also transitioning to bricks-and-mortar is KauKau Corner, an Alameda-based Hawaiian food truck, which will be taking over the space Thai Noodles is vacating.
Finally, in the still under construction building between the new Walgreens and the Alameda Marketplace there are two restaurants going in: a Smashburger and the latest iteration of Angela's (which started in Marina Village, moved to the much larger space next to the Alameda Cinema, then planned a move to a location on Park Street which was lost in the arson fire last year).
The number of restaurants on Park Street is continuing to grow!
