Coming to Baltimore this weekend

marcia2 | Feb 20, 200803:57 PM

We'll be in Baltimore for 3 dinners, 2 lunches and 3 breakfasts. Staying at the Marriott Waterfront. No car, we'll use taxis. We'd like to keep meals casual and definitely want crabcakes.

Friday, we'll be at the Convention Center for the craft show.

Here's what I've got so far.

Dinner: Duda's, Henninger's Tavern, Mama's on the Half Shell and Brewer's Art all look appealing, based on websites where available (does Mama's still exist? the website address doesn't lead anywhere) and chowhound advice. Any thoughts on best 3 out of 4?

Dessert: Is dessert at any of these places particularly good or should we go elswhere? I see that Vaccaro's is right near Mama's on the Half Shell. Ideally, we'd be looking for dessert places that are a quick walk on a cold February night either from the restuarant or our hotel.

Lunch: Faidley's one day, I hope. It looks like a reasonable walk from the Convention Center, where we'll be on Friday. If that doesn't work for some reason, I can see that Harborplace and the Hyatt Regency are right nearby. Anywhere in either of these two places that we want to eat lunch?

Breakfast/Brunch: Blue Moon Cafe is near the hotel and looks good. Metropolitan Coffeehouse is less than a mile from the Convention Center. We good cab over for breakfast and then walk to the Convention Center, if it's not too cold and the neighborhood is ok for walking on a Friday morning. Other thoughts near our hotel?

Many thanks.
