Chicken and Waffles:
This is something that always eluded me- why would one want to eat these two items together? When does one eat such a meal? Do you place the chicken and waffle in the same bite?
After going to The Little House on Clinton in Clinton Hill (Vanderbilt and Myrtle) I came to the conclusion of how delicious chicken and waffles is!
I stumbled upon this little family run establishment by chance one weekend morning. Owned by a grandmother and run with the help of her children this place might not be much to look at (although always clean) it’s definitely worth stopping by. It's small with maybe 7-9 tables in it but has a lot of soul. It also does a brisk take out business. If eating in go either early to mid morning as late morning gets a lot of people straight out of church.
Both the waffles and chicken are delicious in their own right, both served fresh made to order. The waffles are great, light and airy. The chicken is moist but crunchy.
For 5.99 you can get to mini waffles (about the size of my female hand) and two pieces of chicken, not a bad deal. Everything is totally affordable. Aside from chicken and waffles they have other fare like some sandwiches, eggs, etc.
In my glutinous eyes it was glorious that at each table you have your own bottle of hot sauce, maple syrup and warm melted butter- no calorie counting here! I'll even admit the squirt of butter went a long delicious way on those wings.
I never had chicken and waffles but after being here I crave it, if your in the mood check it out!
