Columbia, SC--Hannah Jane's

deb-in-billyburg | May 2, 200205:25 PM

The first of what will be my many postings from COlumbia once I'm down there permanently in July. On our trip down to buy a house, we had lunch at Hannah Jane's in Five Points and had a surprisingly (as it wasn't on our list of recs) good meal. We started with the pesto-walnut spread, which was really quite tasty -- I would have liked more, but what I should have done was ordered the $9 spread sampler rather than splitting the $4 single spread. I had the ribeye steak sandwich for my entree, which was very good--the sauce was a good complement without being overwhelming, the steak was flavorful, and the portion was just huge. My husband had the jambalaya, which wasn't as tasty or filling, but was still very fresh. The wine selection seemed reasonable (I'm battling pregnancy, so I didn't order).
