In a little town just west of Colorado Springs (Woodland Park, CO) there is a new restaurant that offers good food at fair prices. Opened in April, 2002, ZAK'S is located just as one approaches the town on Hwy. 24 West. Tourists on their way to gambling in Cripple Creek would do well to stop at ZAK'S for a real meal first. I ate something called "baseball sirloin" this week: had never heard of such a cut before, but the meat was tender, cooked just as requested (rare) and accompanied by a good---not mealy---baked potato, fresh green beans & crispy green salad. My dining companions enjoyed large portions of bbq ribs. We all left smiling, with leftovers sufficient for the next day's lunch!
