Collard Greens & how to find good-looking greens

mbgizmo | Jan 8, 201904:24 AM     9

I tried collard greens about a year ago for a church potluck. Discovered how good they are! When I shop for collard greens in local Midwest grocery stores, the bundled collard greens are in bad shape...bad spots, bruised from handling, holes from insects, lots of torn leaves with brown edges, etc.. Why is it so hard to find collard greens in good shape? Kale bunches look beautiful.
Is it due to sourcing? Are there too few farms to pick from? Does the South get the cream of the crop??
